Liverpool legend Luis Garcia feels that the Reds need to target qualification for the Champions League this term.

Brendan Rodgers’ side ended up in sixth last season and thereby missed out on qualification to the elite European competition; however, they will be plying their trade in the Europa League this season.

After the first four rounds of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign, Liverpool sit seventh in the league standings with a return of two wins and a draw and a loss each from their first four fixtures.

Garcia, who spent three seasons at Anfield and won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005, feels that they need to target a return to the European elite this season.

“I think the main target for the year has to be Champions League football”, he was quoted as saying by the Liverpool website.
