Victor Valdes has vowed to work hard and thanked Manchester United fans for their support at what is a tough time in his career.

The experienced goalkeeper has been frozen out of the first team at Manchester United by manager Louis van Gaal, who vowed he will not play for the club again after failing to follow his philosophy.

Valdes is accused of refusing to play in an Under-21 game for the club.

He was set to move to Turkish giants Besiktas before the transfer window closed, but the switch fell through at the last minute, leaving him stuck at Old Trafford.

Valdes has today taken to social media, posting a photograph of himself along with the caption: "No matter what happens. The only way I know is to work hard every day."
