Rangers boss Mark Warburton has revealed that he has never paid in particular attention to any streak or record while overseeing his side's recent run of form.

The Gers have been in red hot form so far this season under new manager Warburton, having won all eight of their games in all competitions.

The 52-year-old is in fact the first manager after the legendary Bill Struth to boast such a record, but for the Englishman records simply mean nothing.

While speaking about his surprise at what he has come to see at his new club since arriving, the manager insisted that he very quickly realised the kind of quality that was on offer at Rangers.

And the fact that the Championship side are keeping winning, thus setting new standards in each game, is purely because of the fact that they are so highly talented, Warburton believes.

The key for Warburton for now will be to keep on preparing his side to be the best every time they play.

“It [matching Struth] never entered my head at all. I didn’t know what to expect from pre-season training, but very quickly I saw the quality of the squad and the way they applied themselves", Warburton told his club's official website.

“They are now getting their just rewards for that, but we never thought about winning streaks or records – they are totally irrelevant.

“They key now is the players preparing to be the best they can be in every performance. It’s one game at a time. Now, everything for us is geared towards Raith."

The league leaders will play Raith Rovers in their next match this Saturday.
