Former West Ham United midfielder Joe Cole has revealed that he will return to the east London club in the future in some capacity.

Cole is a product of the West Ham United academy – he joined in 1994 – and progressed to the first team in 1998. He stayed at Upton Park until 2003 before he departed to Chelsea. He returned to the Hammers for a solitary season in 2013.

The former England international has been plying his trade for Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa and has revealed that he intends to return to his former club in some capacity after his playing days are over.

“Once you play for West Ham you are always part of the family and I'm sure I will be back one day in some capacity”, he was quoted as saying by the Hammers website.

The 33-year-old was at the club’s academy training ground this week and said that the Hammers must keep producing players the way they have always done.
