Younes Kaboul insists he will treat this weekend's match against former club Tottenham Hotspur as just another game as he aims to help the Black Cats to three points.

Sunderland snapped Kaboul up from the White Hart Lane outfit earlier this summer and will lock horns with his old club at the Stadium of Light this coming weekend.

Kaboul was at times a key man with Spurs and was even handed the captain's armband at the north London side.

But he will not go easy on his former employers and is desperate to win the game for Sunderland, who badly need the points.

The French defender told Sunderland's official site: "Like any game, it’s no different for me. I would play that game to win it.

"We got some stick after our first two games but we reacted quite well, so now we need to win a game to really start building momentum", the 29-year-old added.

Kaboul made a total of 141 appearances in total for Spurs during his time at White Hart Lane, chipping in with eight goals and five assists.

The centre-back has already made three Premier League appearances for Sunderland since he linked up with the Black Cats.
