Adam Pearson insists that Hull FC need his full attention, hence his decision to resign as executive director at Leeds United.

Pearson joined Leeds earlier this summer to assist chairman and owner Massimo Cellino and set about making a number of key appointments throughout the Yorkshire club, bringing in a head of recruitment, a club secretary and a new coaching team.

He formed a close bond with head coach Uwe Rosler, who admitted he was "devastated" to hear of Pearson's decision to resign from his post, while Cellino also had warm words for the departing director.

The news emerged after Leeds lost 1-0 to Ipswich Town earlier this week and Pearson has explained his rugby league side Hull FC need his full attention.

"Hull FC needs my complete attention, so that is what it will get, as we look to take care of some areas of the club in relation to supporters and corporate partners", he told the club's site.

"We have to fight for financial support against the City of Culture 2017 sponsor packages which are eating into our traditional sponsor database."

And Pearson believes it is incumbent upon himself to lead by example in driving Hull FC forward, as he is sure they can enjoy success if he does so.

"I want all areas of the club firing on all cylinders and striving for success and as Chairman of the club I must lead from the front.

"The management team are building a culture and ethos here at the club that we believe can be the firm foundation of success for years to come", he added.
