Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that the club have no issues with Arsenal and Liverpool linked Alexandre Lacazette’s conduct.

The French striker reportedly lashed out at the club’s president and coach Hubert Fournier for his ill-treatment this season and feels that he has received undue criticism for his performances.

His statements were expected to send ripple effects across the club, but the president has revealed that Lyon have no problem with Lacazette and the player has denied the contents of the interview.

Aulas claimed that the statements were an invention of the media and is confident that Lacazette did not say those things as the striker is not that kind of person.

The Lyon president was quoted as saying by beIN Sport: “He categorically denied the content of the interview.

“This is a non-event.”

Aulas continued: “Sometimes the media wants to create such things, but there is no problem with Alexandre, who is a lovely boy.

“He knows that making such statements is outside the scope of ethics and he would have been punished, but this is not the case with Alexandre.”

Lacazette was the top scorer in France last season and despite interest from clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal, he decided to sign a new long term contract with Lyon this summer.

The latest controversy again raised rumours about his future, but it seems the whole situation was a ‘non-event’, as described by Aulas.
