Bayern Munich stars Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller are eagerly awaiting Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund.

The Bavarian giants have enjoyed a splendid start to their season as they remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga, having won all seven of their games so far. They have also registered successive wins over Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb in their first two Champions League fixtures.

Borussi Dortmund, too, started the season brightly as they won their first five games, but have since drawn successive matches against Hoffenheim and newly-promoted Darmstadt.

Lewandowski, who previously plied his trade for the Rhine outfit before opting for the Allianz Arena club last summer, has said that he is eagerly looking forward to the match.

"This is the game everyone in Germany wants to see and we're looking forward to it”, he was quoted as saying by FIFA.

“As a striker you always want to score more goals, you can never be satisfied”, he added.

Muller, who has risen through the youth ranks of Bayern Munich and has become an indispensable member of the first team, termed it a meeting between Germany’s best sides.

"It's a summit meeting of the country's best.

“The whole of Germany's football community will be looking in our direction with great excitement on Sunday.”
