Leeds United will be watching developments at Sunderland closely over the coming days as they have Will Buckley on loan from the Black Cats.

Dick Adovcaat resigned as Sunderland manager yesterday, meaning the Stadium of Light outfit are on the lookout for a new boss.

Buckley fell out of favour at Sunderland under Advocaat and recently completed an emergency 93-day loan switch to Elland Road.

However, Sunderland could recall Buckley after a period of 28 days, as per Football League rules, if their new manager feels the winger is needed at the Stadium of Light.

As such Leeds are sure to be watching developments in the north east closely as Sunderland hunt a new manager.

Buckley made his Leeds debut on Saturday in a 2-0 home defeat to Birmingham City.

The winger is currently scheduled to remain with the Whites until the opening of the winter transfer window, something which was arranged in order to allow Leeds to sign Buckley permanently or extend his loan until the end of the campaign.
