Former Liverpool manager Roy Evans believes that whoever replaces Brendan Rodgers will have to quickly work out his best team.

Evans feels that Liverpool's new manager will have quality to work with in the squad, but must quickly decide what combinations work best.




The former Reds boss believes that is a prerequisite for hitting the ground running.

"I'm always a believer that you need to know what your best team is", Evans said on LFC TV.
 


"And you need to know that very quickly", the former Liverpool manager continued.

"So the guy who comes in has to hit the ground running and has got to make a few changes."

Former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is currently the favourite to take over at Anfield, while ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is also reported to be a contender.

Rodgers leaves Liverpool sitting tenth in the Premier League standings, having picked up 12 points from their opening eight games.

The Reds are next in action after the international break when they lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. By then Liverpool will hope to have a new boss in place.
