Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his disappointment over yesterday’s draw against Swansea City, saying that his team created a lot of chances, but had to contend with a solitary point from the away fixture.

The Lilywhites headed into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw against Monaco in a Champions League fixture, and came away with a 2-2 draw from the Liberty Stadium that halted their run of three successive wins in the Premier League.

Christian Eriksen scored both goals for the visitors courtesy of two exquisitely taken free-kicks, while Andre Ayew opened the scoring for the Swans, who were aided by an own goal from Harry Kane.

Pochettino said he is disappointed with the result, adding that it feels worse than the Monaco draw.

“I’m a little disappointed and it’s a little of the same feeling I had after Monaco, perhaps even worse today because in the first half they had one effort on target and scored twice”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

“We created lots of chances, completely dominated the game but that’s football, we need to accept it. We have to be proud of our players because the effort was brilliant and to play like that three days after Monaco was fantastic.

“We scored from two free-kicks, fantastic from Christian Eriksen, but the easier chances, we didn’t score.

“We’re ambitious and want to win all games and when we have the opportunities, we need to have more of a killer instinct.”

Spurs are now lying eighth in the league standings with 13 points from eight games, and will be up against Liverpool in their next league fixture at White Hart Lane.
