Manchester United striker Anthony Martial feels he has a lot to achieve before he deserves to be compared with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

The 19-year-old Frenchman joined Manchester United from Monaco in the summer for a whopping initial fee of €50m and has hit the ground running at Old Trafford.

He has already scored four goals in seven appearances for the Red Devils and has secured a place in the Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven with his consistent performances up front.

Martial has often been compared with France great Henry, who is considered a legend at Arsenal and is said to be one of the greatest ever foreign players to grace English football.

Martial is refusing to be drawn into the comparisons with Henry and feels the Arsenal legend was a completely different kind of player altogether.

“I do not think we have the same characteristics. Thierry Henry is Thierry Henry is.”

The youngster insisted that he has a lot to achieve in the future before he can be compared with France’s top goalscorer.

“I still have everything to prove. By continuing to work, I will try to have his level, but I am still very far.”

Martial’s transfer fee could rise up to €80m if he continues to improve and achieves certain targets during his stay at Manchester United.
