Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his delight over the inclusion of Lilywhites’ starlet Dele Alli in the England national team, saying the youngster should enjoy turning out for the Three Lions.

Alli arrived from MK Dons this summer, following a winter agreement, and has gone on to become a regular fixture in the Spurs line-up under Pochettino, having made ten appearances across the Premier League, the Europa League and the League Cup so far this season.

The 19-year-old has a goal as well as an assist to show for his efforts at White Hart Lane.

His displays have earned him a spot with Roy Hodgson’s England national team for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania, and Spurs’ boss Pochettino has expressed his delight with the rapid progress made by the youngster.

"We're all happy for Dele”, the Argentine was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

"It’s important to look after him and we have a very good relationship with Roy Hodgson and his staff and the national team.

"We need to provide him with the best conditions to help him keep his feet on the ground, that’s the most important thing.”

The former Southampton manager has lauded Alli and has urged him to enjoy playing for his national team.

"Dele is very mature and has a personality that he shows on the pitch and outside, so I don’t think it’s a big issue.

“He needs to enjoy his moment and now we need to work hard to look after him.”
