Germany coach Joachim Low is not surprised that Liverpool are moving to appoint Jurgen Klopp as their new manager, especially as he sees similarities between the Reds and Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday evening following a 1-1 draw away at Everton in the Merseyside derby and have moved quickly to line up his successor.




Klopp, the former Borussia Dortmund coach, is Liverpool's main target and they are thought to be close to appointing him on a three-year deal.

The 48-year-old's appointment could be announced on Friday and Low sees similarities between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.
 


Speaking at a press conference today, Low was asked about Klopp heading to Liverpool.

And he replied: "I can understand exactly why Liverpool would want him.

"He had a fantastic time in Dortmund.

"There are some similarities between Liverpool and BVB."

Klopp left his role as Borussia Dortmund coach at the end of last term following a disastrous campaign with saw the club flirt with relegation from the Bundesliga.

Liverpool want their new man in place for a trip to face Spurs on 17th October.
