Liverpool are on the brink of appointing Jurgen Klopp as the next manager of the club, it has been claimed.

Since Brendan Rodgers’ departure from the club on Sunday, Liverpool have been swift in their attempts to appoint his successor and have been in talks with Klopp’s representatives over the last few days.

And it seems the negotiations have entered the decisive phase as according to the BBC, Liverpool are hoping to agree a deal with the former Borussia Dortmund coach by tomorrow.

The Reds are looking to get the deal done soon and are hoping to announce the 48-year-old’s appointment by the end of the week, on a three-year deal.

It has been suggested that Klopp wants to appoint long-term assistants Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz as part of his coaching staff at Anfield.

Liverpool are also considering a move for former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, but the Italian is unlikely to return to management before next season.

Therefore, the two-time Bundesliga winner is the current favourite to land the job and Liverpool are confident of getting their man by the end of the week.

Rodgers replaced Kenny Dalglish as the club’s manager in 2012 and led them to a second place finish in the Premier League in the 2013/14 season.
