Former Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard has lauded the club’s summer signing Arda Turan, saying the Turk will bring something more to the table for the Catalans.

Turan has arrived at the Camp Nou from Atletico Madrid, however, he is yet to feature in any games for the side as the club are reeling under a FIFA-imposed two-transfer window ban on registering new players that remains in effect until January.

The midfielder was one of the vital players for Diego Simeone while he was at the Vicente Calderon and went on to make close to 200 appearances for Los Rojiblancos, winning a league title, a Copa del Rey and a Europa League during his four years with the side.

The Turkey international started his playing career at Galatasaray of the Turkish league and played under Rijkaard at the club.

The Dutchman, who gave Lionel Messi his professional debut and won the 2006 Champions League with the Blaugrana, has said that Turan will be a vital addition to the squad as he possesses a lot of quality.
