Arsenal and Liverpool linked Real Betis starlet Dani Ceballos appears set to extend his contract with Los Verdiblancos, according to Spanish daily AS.

Ceballos joined Real Betis in their youth squad and has progressed through the ranks to become a first team regular under manager Pepe Mel.




Last season, his five goals and as many assists from 33 league appearances helped his side win the Segunda Division title and make the Spanish top flight.

His displays last term earned him admirers from all quarters and he was linked with a move to Premier League heavyweights Arsenal as well as Liverpool.
 


However, he stayed put at the Estadio Benito Villamarin and now appears close to extending his contract for a further three years after his representatives met Real Betis officials on Tuesday.

The new deal will see the 19-year-old receive a significant hike on his current salary and make him one of the highest paid players in the squad.

He is likely to have a release clause worth €15m inserted in his new contract.

Ceballos has featured in six games this season for Real Betis and has an assist to show for his efforts.
