Barcelona starlet Alejandro Grimaldo is eager to leave the Blaugrana next summer, according to Catalan daily Sport.

Grimaldo is currently plying his trade for Barcelona B in the third division of the Spanish league and has been captaining Gerard Lopez’s side.

The youngster’s existing contract with the Blaugrana ends next summer and there have been no extension talks so far.

The starlet refused to move out on a loan deal to Levante earlier this summer and wants to leave the club for free next summer, it has been claimed.

Grimaldo also recently revealed that there has been no communication between him and first team manager Luis Enrique with regards to his future and a spot in the first team.

In the prevailing circumstances, it appears increasingly likely that the defender is on his way out of the Camp Nou once his contract runs out.

He was linked with a move to Benfica of the Portuguese league, and is reported to have an offer from a Portuguese side.

It remains to be seen if the highly-rated left-back stays at the Camp Nou or moves to another club next summer.
