Barcelona star Neymar’s father, who is also his agent, has revealed that the Catalan club did receive an offer from Manchester United in the summer.

Manchester United were said to be in for some big players in the summer and Neymar was one of the star names who was linked with a move to Old Trafford during the transfer window.




While the deal always looked unlikely , there was talk that Manchester United were serious about signing the Brazil captain and the player himself revealed that he was aware of the speculation.

Barcelona maintained that they received no offer from any club for their superstar in the summer, but it seems a bid did land on their doorstep from Manchester United.
 


Neymar’s father has revealed that Manchester United slapped in a bid for his son, but since they were not interested in a move, Barcelona rejected the offer.

Speaking to Fox Brasil and quoted by Catalan daily Sport, the player’s father said: “Barcelona received an offer from Manchester United, but the club said that they didn’t want to sell.

“Then they asked whether we were interested, but we were not and that was that.”

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is desperate to land a big name superstar at Old Trafford soon and he could again make a move for the Brazil captain next summer.
