The agent of Barcelona and Chelsea linked forward Andriy Yarmolenko has insisted that his new contract doesn’t change anything about his long term future at Dynamo Kyiv.

The 25-year-old forward signed a new five-year contract with Dynamo Kyiv earlier this week, which further increased the speculation surrounding his future at the club.

Barcelona and Chelsea are believed to be interested in the player and were hoping to sign him in January on a cut-price deal, as his old contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

However, Vadim Shabliy, his agent, insisted that the new deal with Dynamo Kyiv doesn’t make too much of a difference as his client still wants to play at one of the top clubs, in one of the major European leagues.

Speaking to Sport.ua, Shabliy said: “Andriy has signed a new five-year contract, but it won’t affect his future.

“He wants to play in a major European league and I don’t believe the chances have decreased.”

While Yarmolenko might eventually leave Dynamo Kyiv for a bigger club, the new deal allows the Ukrainian outfit more room to manoeuvre in any future negotiations over his transfer.

The 25-year-old has started the season in good form and has already bagged eight goals in 14 appearances in all competitions for Dynamo Kyiv.
