Jose Mourinho says he is in the dark over talk that Radamel Falcao is looking to quit Chelsea in the winter transfer window due to a lack of playing time.

Falcao joined the Blues on a season-long loan deal in the summer from Monaco after enjoying a similar loan spell at Manchester United.

But he has struggled for playing time at Stamford Bridge with Diego Costa ahead of him in the pecking order and Loic Remy also competing for first team minutes.

And that has led to the suggestion that Falcao is looking to move on when the transfer window opens again in around two months time.

Mourinho however expressed his surprised when asked about the possibility of Falcao wanting to leave at a press conference.

The Chelsea boss said: "First of all I don't know if it's true because to me he has said absolutely nothing in relation to that.

"And I speak with him every day.

"It's quite strange that the press knows something that I don't know and that my club doesn't know. We have not one single piece of information about it.

"What does he have to do to play more? He has to give us more than Diego, because we normally play with one striker and I always go for the performance level. It's direct competition between players for the position and the best one plays."

Chelsea are next in action this evening against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League.
