Vitesse captain Guram Kashia believes that players on loan at the club from Chelsea need to remain for more than a one-season spell in order to develop their skills.

Chelsea work closely with Vitesse and often send players on loan spells at the Eredivisie outfit in order to earn regular first team football.

Currently midfielders Lewis Baker, Nathan and Danilo Pantic, along with forwards Isaiah Brown and Dominic Solanke, are on loan at Vitesse.

And skipper Kashia feels they need to have a longer period than just one season with the Dutch club in order to fully develop, as a 12-month spell is not enough to prepare them to return to Chelsea.

"The Dutch league is a good school for young boys, but one year at Vitesse is not enough to learn and be ready to take the step back to Chelsea", he told NUsport.

"That's what I would say to the young boys: do not go away after this season.

"I will not be like a teacher, but I will try to convince them as well."

Vitesse are enjoying a strong season in the Eredivisie and currently find themselves sitting fifth in the table with 17 points after ten games.

The Arnhem-based side went down to a 3-1 defeat to league leaders Ajax at the weekend.
