Zinedine Zidane feels people are putting undue pressure on Anthony Martial by comparing him with Thierry Henry.

Manchester United turned the Frenchman into the most expensive teenager ever when they splashed out around £36m to take him to Old Trafford from Monaco towards the end of the transfer window this summer.

Martial has done exceedingly well to prove his doubters wrong with some fine performances since his arrival and has already notched up five goals in a Manchester United shirt.

The 19-year-old bagged the Premier League’s Player of the Month in September for his performances and has already been compared with Arsenal great Thierry Henry, another Frenchman who made a name for himself in English football.

While Zidane feels Martial has a great future ahead of him, he believes it is unfair to compare the youngster with a great such as Henry.

“Come on, Thierry is one of the greats”, Zidane told Shortlist Magazine.

“It is not fair to put that pressure on the kid. It is obvious he is full of ability and confidence, so it looks good for the future.”

Following his Manchester United move, Martial made his debut for France and recently made his first start for his national team against Denmark.

France national team coach Didier Deschamps is also a big fan of the teenager and many feel Martial could become a regular in the first eleven for Les Bleus.
