West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan feels that the club have a realistic chance of breaking into the top four this season.

The Hammers are making their last season at the Boleyn Ground one to remember and have made a fantastic start to their campaign under new manager Slaven Bilic.

Wins over heavyweights such as Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have been a confidence booster for a team who are just two points off the Citizens, who are sitting at the top of the league table.

Sullivan is ecstatic with the way the Hammers have started the season and feels that after ten games in the season, it is fair to say the east Londoners will finish in the right side of the league table.

The club co-chairman told West Ham TV: “They always say where you are after nine or ten games is a fair reflection of where you're going to be.

“We've had a very tough ten games, so whilst I fully accept we could have a disaster like last year and finish well down the table, I also think it could all go on and we really could finish in the top four.”

While he feels talk of winning the league is stretching it a bit too far, he admits that finishing in the top four is a realistic expectation after such a start and believes the Hammers or Leicester, who have also been impressive this season, could break into the Champions League spots at the end of the campaign.

“I can't see us winning it, but nothing is impossible. We're two points off the top.

“It sounds mad to say we could win the league, but I think us or Leicester, a team could break into that top four this year.”

The Hammers will be looking to maintain their early season momentum when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
