Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has refused to take relegation battlers Aston Villa lightly in their league clash at White Hart Lane later tonight.

The Villans have hit rock bottom in the league table, having managed to win only one of their last ten matches, losing eight.

The Lilywhites on the other hand are on a roll, having lost only one of their ten league matches, winning four and drawing five.

The former Southampton manager though stresses the need to remain cautious as he knows that it is always difficult to keep momentum going.

Pochettino is also aware of the fact that every team is on the lookout to beat his side and therefore it will be important that they deliver according to the plan on the given night.

“For me, the most important thing is our game and how we deliver everything that we’ve worked on during the week”, Pochettino told his club's official website.

“Every opponent wants to beat us and it will be a difficult game against Villa.

“You never know how the opponent wants to play or will play but the most important thing is how we play."

Speaking about the level of competition on offer in the Premier League, Pochettino added that every team are hard to beat and therefore it is important that they remain on their toes during the match.

“It’s hard to keep the momentum going and it’s hard to beat teams in the Premier League – this is why we need to work very hard and to be focused on our job in every game.”
