West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is preparing to rekindle his interest in Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz in the winter transfer window, it has been claimed.

Bilic was keen on Yilmaz as a potential signing over the summer transfer window, but the Turkey international stayed put at the Turk Telekom Arena, much to Galatasaray's relief.

But the former Besiktas manager is plotting a fresh swoop in the new year, according to Turkish outlet Takvim.

It has also been claimed that Yilmaz is eyeing the exit door at Galatasaray, something the club are aware of and which makes them more inclined to deal for the right price.

The 30-year-old netted 22 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray last season, while his total goals scored for the club sits at an impressive 77 in just 133 games.

Yilmaz is under contract with Galatasaray until the summer of 2019 and it remains to be seen what sum West Ham would have to offer to complete his signing.

The Hammers have seen their attacking options hit by injuries at regular points this season and saw Enner Valencia forced off with an ankle knock in their 1-1 weekend draw with Everton.
