Alexandre Pato, who has recently been linked with Liverpool, has waved away questions over his future, though admitted he hopes to return to Europe "soon".

The Brazilian striker is currently on loan at Sao Paulo from Corinthians, but Corinthians have made clear they will be looking to move him on.




It has been claimed Liverpool have a deal in place for Pato, but the Reds have played down that suggestion.

And the man in question is trying to play his cards close to his chest, though he does concede he hopes to head back to Europe, where he turned out with AC Milan.
 


Attending the Formula One Grand Prix in Brazil, Pato was asked about returning to Europe.

And he was quoted as saying by Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo: "I do not know, I hope soon.

"I came here to see the race and I hope it is very good.

"It is a good place to come with family and friends."

So far this term Pato has scored 14 goals and provided seven assists across the Brazilian Serie A, the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores.

During his time at AC Milan, the 26-year-old made a total of 150 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring 63 goals and providing his team-mates with 18 assists.
