Leeds United boss Steve Evans has revealed that he has relaxed the rules at the club's training ground, which were put in place by former head coach Uwe Rosler.

The German tactician was sacked in October following a string of poor results and Leeds supremo Massimo Cellino turned to Evans to resurrect the Whites' season.

The ex-Rotherham United boss has steadied the ship with two wins, two draws and just one defeat from his five games in charge.

Evans says that he has relaxed the rules at the club as he seeks to put smiles back on players' faces – and while he does not want to be drawn into every rule, he says one of Rosler's rules had some players getting out of bed at six in the morning.

"I think, without getting into every rule, the boys had to be in the training ground at 9:00am whether they were injured or not. The session didn't start until 11:00am and there's a lot of boys in there with young families and there's traffic and all that stuff", he said on Sky Sports News HQ.

"I know the rest of us in our normal jobs think that's not harsh on them, but I quite like the players to come in for breakfast, they are in earlier, about 10:15am.

"They've got enough time to go and have their strapping, their rubs and prepare, and when I want them in the training ground I want them smiling, I want them happy and I want an environment where you want to drive in.

"And if you live an hour and a half away it's not right for footballers to be out of their bed at six in the morning to get in for training", the Scot added.

Evans' men have won their last two Championship games back to back, beating Cardiff City to end a seven-month streak without a win at Elland Road, and then visiting local rivals Huddersfield Town to record a comprehensive 3-0 victory.

The Whites have also been in action over the international break, playing and beating Wycombe Wanderers (2-0) in a friendly on Friday night.
