Rangers starlet Ross McCrorie believes the progress of himself and Liam Burt and Ross Lyon to the first team squad against Alloa Athletic recently will inspire the club's other youngsters.

McCrorie and Burt were included in the 20-man squad, while Lyon even made the cut to earn a spot on the bench at Ibrox.

Rangers ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over the Wasps and McCrorie was pleased to be involved as part of manager Mark Warburton's squad.

He told Rangers TV: "It was good to be there, and it was great for Ross Lyon to get onto the bench. It was a good experience for us all and hopefully we can better that by getting onto the bench or getting a start."

The 17-year-old feels that the trio's inclusion in the first team squad will act as inspiration for other youngsters at the club, showing them their is a route up to the senior side.
