Napoli have initiated contact with midfielder Jorginho’s representatives to extend his contract with the club, amid the player being linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been in turning in some fine performances for Napoli in this season’s Serie A and his considerable progress has not gone unnoticed across Europe.




Jorginho has generated considerable interest in England and the trio of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the former Italian Under-21 international.

Napoli are aware of the interest in their midfielder and are keen to extend his contract to safeguard their asset’s value, in case some of the top clubs do table a bid for him soon.
 


According to Sky Italia, the club have initiated contact with the player’s representatives and both parties are currently negotiating a new contract for Jorginho.

In line with his progress and performances this season, Napoli are ready to offer him a considerable pay hike and are hoping that once he signs a new contract, they will be able to fend off interest from the big Premier League teams.

Jorginho has made 12 appearances for the club this season in all competitions and has been a regular feature in Maurizio Sarri’s team.

His current contract with the club expires in 2018.
