Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose feels over the moon after having managed to convincingly beat West Ham United at White Hart Lane yesterday and now wants to see it as a platform ahead of his side's Chelsea game.

Striker Harry Kane found the back of the net twice while defender Toby Alderweireld and right-back Kyle Walker also scored as Spurs beat Slaven Bilic's side 4-1 to develop a three-point lead over the Hammers in fifth place in the league table.

While admitting that it would have been better had they managed a clean sheet, Rose insisted that his side showed great confidence to go on and win just after the international break.

The timing of the win was particularly significant, according to the 25-year-old, as it was a week when a number of top teams such as Manchester City and Arsenal lost.

“It’s a great result, everyone’s over the moon – it’s just a shame that we couldn’t keep a clean sheet”, Rose told his club's official website.

“Nevertheless, we showed great confidence. We’ve seen some teams come back from the international break and not manage to pick up wins this weekend – the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City – but we did very well.

“We’ve had a great week in training where the Head Coach has given us the best platform to be ready for the game and we’ve shown that out on the pitch."

Rose now sees the win as a platform to build on for their Europa League encounter against Qarabag on Thursday night and the match against Chelsea next weekend.

“We created a lot of chances, we looked solid and we’ve given ourselves a great platform leading into the Chelsea game next weekend, as well as Qarabag on Thursday night.”
