Former Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has refused to take charge of Denmark, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

Denmark are currently without a manager after Morten Olsen stepped down from the post, following the nation’s failure to qualify for the 2016 European Championship.

Olsen was in charge of Denmark for 15 long years, but the 66-year-old felt his time was up after the country lost their European Championship playoff against Scandinavian neighbours Sweden earlier in the month.

As a result, the Danish Federation contacted Laudrup to succeed Olsen as the new manager of the Red and White.

However, the former Real Madrid and Barcelona forward has turned down the offer, citing personal reasons.
