Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has declared that his side will be aiming to bag the full three points against Qarabag in a Europa League fixture tonight.

Spurs, who are currently atop Group J with seven points from four games, will book their place in the knockout rounds of the competition if they manage to come out victorious from the Azerbaijan outfit’s backyard.

However, Pochettino admitted that travelling long distances, coupled with playing in alien conditions, will make the European fixture tough for his side.

“It’s an important game for us because we want to get into the next round of the Europa League”, the manager told Spurs TV.

“It’s tough with the long trip to Baku, difficult conditions for us, but we want to go through so we need to compete and try to take the three points.”

Despite losing the corresponding fixture 3-1 in September, Qarabag played an open and entertaining game at White Hart Lane.

And Pochettino, whose side defeated West Ham 4-1 last weekend, explained that he expects a similar display from the Azerbaijanis at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium.

“Yes, we expect a similar game”, he added.

“They play in the same way at home as they do away and have some very good players.

"They are a very aggressive and dynamic team with and without the ball and we need to be ready to compete.”

After tomorrow’s game, Tottenham will welcome French club Monaco to London for their final Europa League group stage fixture next month.
