Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he is not aware of the extent of Daniel Sturridge’s foot injury.

The striker, who has endured an injury-laden spell since last season, was scheduled to return to action in the Europa League fixture against Bordeaux last night, a game Liverpool won 2-1.

However, Sturridge picked up a foot injury in training and was hence ruled out of the game.

The England international, who has been out of action since 4th October with a knee injury, was immediately sent for scans.

But Klopp insisted that he does not know much about Sturridge’s latest injury setback.

"I don't know about [Daniel Sturridge’s injury]”, the German said on BT Sport.

“We have to wait for some things.”

Sturridge, who is yet to feature under Klopp, joined the club from their Premier League rivals Chelsea in January 2013.

Although Sturridge has been in fine form since his move to the Merseyside club, scoring 43 goals in 70 matches, the 26-year-old has often found himself out on the sidelines at Anfield.
