Juan Mata has declared that Manchester United are desperate to return to winning ways against West Ham United on Saturday.

The Red Devils, who have drawn their last two games in all competitions, missed the chance to go atop the Premier League table following their 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the weekend.

Manchester United are currently third in the standings with 28 points from 14 games, just one behind leaders Manchester City.

West Ham, who also drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, have enjoyed a good start to the season.

Slaven Bilic’s side have been in good form away from home and have already defeated big clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City on the road in the present campaign.

Hence, Mata is wary of threat posed by West Ham, ahead of the weekend’s meeting at Old Trafford.

“The next game – therefore the most important one right now – is on Saturday against West Ham”, Mata wrote on his personal blog, quoted by Manchester United's official site.

“They have had a good start this season and have won more games away than at home.

“However, as I said, we don't like draws and we want to go back to the victories.

“They have a very good manager and some of their players are very talented, but our aim is to get the three points and we have the whole week to work well on this game.”

Following their draw with West Brom, the Hammers have dropped down to eighth spot in the Premier League with 22 points.
