Manchester United have been hit with a blow ahead of Tuesday evening's crucial Champions League game against Wolfsburg in Germany as Wayne Rooney and Morgan Schneiderlin have not travelled.

Rooney missed Saturday's 0-0 draw with West Ham United after he suffered an ankle injury and has not been able to shake off the knock in time to feature in the squad heading to Germany.

Schneiderlin meanwhile came off against the Hammers after suffering a hip problem and he too will not feature against Wolfsburg.

Also absent through injury are Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia.

Manchester United have taken 19 players to Germany, including young attacking midfielder Nick Powell, who features with the senior side for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in February.
