Arsenal are in talks with Dynamo Moscow for the transfer of forward Aleksandr Kokorin, according to Russian outlet Izvestia.

The Russian international striker has been linked with a move to England since last summer and both Manchester United and Arsenal were believed to be in the race to sign him from Dynamo Moscow.

While it is unclear whether Manchester United are still maintaining their interest in the player, Arsenal are going forward with a deal to sign the forward and it has been suggested that they are in negotiations with Dynamo Moscow.

Kokorin’s contract with the club expires at the end of the season and though Dynamo Moscow are interested in offering him a new deal, the player is said to be keen to move on.

It has been claimed that the Russian outfit are undergoing financial problems and could come to an agreement with Arsenal for the sale of Kokorin for a fee of around €6m in January.

The 24-year-old is also said to be keen to test himself at Arsenal and is looking forward to moving to England once both clubs reach an agreement.

Kokorin has found the back of the net five times in ten appearances for Dynamo Moscow this season and is expected to improve Arsenal's goalscoring options if he moves to north London.

With their Champions League last 16 appearance guaranteed, the Gunners are ready to splash the cash in January to bolster their squad for the second half of their campaign.
