Leeds United boss Steve Evans has mocked suggestions that chairman Massimo Cellino has an influence on team selection matters after the Whites drew 0-0 away at Charlton Athletic earlier today.

It was widely reported after Leeds' 1-0 defeat at QPR on 28th November that Cellino went down to the dressing room at half time at Loftus Road and ordered Evans to switch the team's shape, something the head coach strongly denies happened.

Today, after Leeds drew with Charlton, a game Cellino watched, Evans made light of the claims once again.

Asked on LUTV if he spoke with Cellino, Evans replied: "Just briefly [I spoke to him] in the tunnel at the end.

"He did come down after 70 minutes on the touchline and make my substitutions and changes", Evans laughed, adding: "That's what they'll write."

On a serious note, Evans says Cellino took the time to shake each player's hand, in acknowledgement of an improved performance from the poor showing at QPR. And he explained last weekend's win over Hull excited the Italian businessman.

"He shook hands with each of the players as they went into the tunnel.

"That was a president who, like our supporters, came to Loftus Road recently to Queens Park Rangers and watched a woeful performance that lacked a lot.

"He then got excited about what he'd seen and heard about Hull City and subsequently watched.

"He's turned up here today and he's probably thinking at half time that we're working hard, but second half his words to the players will stay private, but it was to each of them and heartfelt from someone who wants to win matches for Leeds United."

The games now continue thick and fast for Leeds, who next up have a visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers on the agenda for Thursday evening as Evans looks to return the Whites to winning ways.
