Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has insisted that Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny is the best centre-back in the Premier League at the moment.
The Frenchman again gave a commanding performance last night as Arsenal laid down a marker in this season’s title race when they beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Emirates and closed the gap with leaders Leicester City.
Yaya Toure’s 82nd minute strike indicated towards a late surge by Manchester City, but Koscielny and his team-mates defended well to see off the late pressure mounted by the visitors to bag all three points.
The Frenchman has been in brilliant form for Arsene Wenger’s men this season and has been one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League.
He found a place in Henry’s Team of the Season and the Arsenal great believes the selection was a no-brainer as he feels Koscielny is currently the best defender in the Premier League.

The former Gunner said on Sky Sports Monday Night Football: “It's simple for me – he's the best defender in the league at the moment.
“There's nothing else to add.”
Arsenal travel to Southampton on Boxing Day and will finish the year by hosting Bournemouth on 28th December.
