Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is lining up a raid on second tier German club RB Leipzig for the club's forward Emil Forsberg, having been impressed with his performances this term.

Klopp is expected to dip into his transfer funds this month to bolster his squad as he seeks to bring consistency to his side.

Liverpool are currently seventh in the Premier League, but just five points from the top four.

According to German magazine Sport Bild, Klopp is showing interest in Forsberg and is weighing up moving for a player who would be expected to cost the Reds in the region of €9m.

This term the Swedish forward has netted five goals for RB Leipzig as well as providing his team-mates with four assists.

Klopp is unlikely to have to work hard to convince Forsberg to move to Anfield, as the Swede has already admitted Liverpool are one of his favourite clubs.

Forsberg only moved to RB Leipzig in January last year, costing the German side a fee of €3.5m to sign from Swedish giants Malmo.

At international level Forsberg has won 13 caps for Sweden, scoring once.
