Rangers manager Mark Warburton is hopeful that midfielder Nicky Law is able to remain consistent with his performances, after impressing in the Gers’ last two matches.

The 27-year-old spent nine weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury and returned to the team in the 2-1 away loss to Falkirk.

The midfielder played a vital part in the Ibrox outfit’s win 4-2 win over Hibernian and the 6-0 demolition of Dumbarton.

The 53-year-old highlighted the competition for places in the middle of the park, with players giving their best in training and feels it is his job to give everyone a chance.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Warburton said: “He was out injured for nine weeks, and it was frustrating for him.

“He was doing well before then, and I think he brings experience and quality, and what he has to do now is maintain that – as do all the players.

“It has to be that way as you look at the midfield and you have the likes of Andy Halliday, Jason Holt, Gedion Zelalem and Dean Shiels who are all pushing hard for a starting place – even Jordan Thompson who has trained outstandingly well every single day.

“If he is good enough, then it is our job to give him that chance. Nicky has come in though and impacted the last two games, so hopefully he can maintain that.”
