Liverpool are ready to provide stiff competition to Fiorentina for the signature of Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet, it has been claimed.

The Belgian has been consistently linked with a move away from Anderlecht during the January transfer window, and English giants Arsenal are believed to be keen to sign him.

However, Serie A outfit Fiorentina are currently doing all the legwork to take the Belgian to Italy at the moment and while Anderlecht’s asking price of €30m has stopped them on their tracks, the club remain determined to snare the starlet.

But Fiorentina have a new threat to deal with in their quest to sign Praet as according to Sky Italia, Premier League giants Liverpool are also keen to snare the Belgian away from Anderlecht this month.

Fiorentina are confident of convincing Anderlecht to lower their demands and have also contacted the player’s father, but they are wary of Liverpool taking Praet from under their noses this month.
