Leeds United have now confirmed the signing of winger Mustapha Carayol from Middlesbrough on a loan deal running through until the end of the season.

Carayol had been on loan at another Championship club in the form of Huddersfield Town, but the agreement came to an end earlier this week.

As a result he is available to join Leeds and the 27-year-old becomes Steve Evans' second signing of the current transfer window following Liam Briductt extending his loan from Sunderland.

Carayol has been handed the number 18 shirt by the Whites.

And he could make his debut this weekend in the FA Cup when Leeds host Rotherham United at Elland Road.

He adds to the options at manager Evans' disposal as the Whites look to push up the Championship table and closer to the playoff spots this term.
