Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel insists that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been linked with moves to both Arsenal and Liverpool, is not about to leave the club.

Aubameyang's future has been a subject of fierce speculation in the current transfer window due to his exploits in the Bundesliga and he was recently named the African Player of the Year.

Tuchel does not want to lose the 26-year-old hitman, who is the Bundesliga's top scorer with 18 goals in 17 games, and is adamant he is not going anywhere.

The Dortmund coach told news agency AFP from the club's Dubai training camp: "I can’t imagine for one moment Aubameyang leaving.

"He is the core of the team. We have a lot still to achieve with him. There is no debate about it", he added.

Dortmund hold the whip hand when it comes to keeping the striker as he is locked down on a contract running until the summer of 2020.

However, the Ruhr giants may still have their resolve tested this month as the Premier League's big boys look to add to their striking options for the second half of the campaign.

Aubameyang was signed for Dortmund by current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp from Saint-Etienne in 2013.
