Derby County manager Paul Clement is excited to welcome Manchester United for their fourth round FA Cup tie at home later this month.

The Rams overcame Hartlepool United in the third round and have been pitted against the 20-time English champions Manchester United in the next round of the FA Cup at home.

Despite their reputation, Manchester United made a meal of their third round opponent Sheffield United at Old Trafford last weekend and needed an injury time penalty to avoid going to Bramall Lane for a replay.

Despite their recent lackadaisical form, Manchester United remain the one of the most successful clubs in the country and Clement admits that hosting them at Derby will be a huge thing for the club and their supporters.

While he admits that playing against the Red Devils will be an exciting opportunity for his players, he wants them to concentrate on the Championship for the moment, where they are second in the table.

Clement told the club’s official website: “It’s a fantastic draw for the football club and I am so pleased that we are at home as well.

“I have no doubt that we’ll have a full house at the iPro Stadium and it will be a great opportunity for the players to test themselves against a Premier League side such as Manchester United.

“It is certainly a game and an occasion to look forward to, one that we will all relish, but for the moment we have to remain focused on our next three league fixtures before we start preparing for the tie against Manchester United.”

Manchester United have won six of their nine games against the Rams in the FA Cup. They thumped Derby with a 4-1 scoreline the last time the two teams met in the fifth round of the competition in 2009.
