Chelsea have held positive talks with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agents regarding a move to Stamford Bridge for the Argentine.

The 30-year-old winger has been linked with a move away from PSG since last summer, but with his contract expiring in the summer, the rumours of his departure have picked up pace again, with Inter Milan and Chelsea believed to be his main suitors.

Lavezzi’s agent mentioned Chelsea’s interest in the winger earlier this month and his representatives arrived in London yesterday to sit with the Blues hierarchy to discuss a proposed transfer for their client.

According to Sky Italia, both parties were happy with the nature of the talks and are scheduled to meet again in the coming days to discuss the terms of an agreement which could see Lavezzi move to Chelsea in the near future.

While it is unclear, whether the talks are being held with a view for a move this month or next summer, the Argentine international is edging closer towards a move to the Premier League in the coming days.

Though a winter move is still a possibility, his agent revealed earlier in the month that a transfer in the summer is more likely for his client and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea are ready to wait until then.

Lavezzi joined PSG from Napoli in 2012 and has made 160 appearances thus far for the club.
