Corinthians deputy director Eduardo Ferreira is expecting Alexandre Pato’s loan move to Chelsea to be resolved during this week, but has indicated that the club might look to extend his contract before they allow the striker to leave for England.

The Brazil international’s future has been a topic of speculation for months and there are suggestions that his long desire to return to Europe is close to becoming a reality, as Chelsea are reportedly in talks with the player’s representatives.

It has been suggested that Pato has already left for England to undergo a medical with Chelsea ahead of his loan move to Stamford Bridge and the clubs are in talks to finalise the terms of the agreement.

The Corinthians deputy director explained that high level talks are on regarding Pato’s move to Chelsea and he expects the deal to be finalised sometime between today and tomorrow.
