Rangers manager Mark Warburton has insisted that the Gers will not be forced into panic buying and has hinted that the club will witness a quiet transfer deadline day.

The Gers have already signed four players in the ongoing transfer window, three out of which have been free transfers.

Warburton’s first signing of the January transfer window was winger Harry Forrester, who was signed from Doncaster Rovers.

The Ibrox outfit followed it up with the signing of former Lech Poznan goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski.

Rangers also signed Accrington Stanley duo Josh Windass and Matt Crooks on pre-contracts, and the 21-year-olds will join the club following the expiration of their contracts with the English League Two outfit.

However, Warburton has hinted that he is still looking to sign reinforcements, but insists that the club won’t be forced into panic buying.

The 53-year-old highlighted that a number of factors come into account before making a signing, which includes the valuation of the player, his wages and the add-ons.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Warburton said: “We're relaxed and won't be forced into panic buying.

“The market creates a countdown which is good entertainment but not for us.

“There are so many different factors which can impact a deal. Valuation, add-ons, wages etc.”

The Gers host title challengers Falkirk at Ibrox on Saturday and will be looking to further extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship.
