Udinese knocked back an offer from Liverpool for their midfielder Piotr Zielinski earlier this week, according to Przeglad Sportowy.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to bring in new players this month in order push for a top four spot in the second half of the campaign and the club are working hard to strengthen the squad.

The latest player to come under the German coach’s glare is Polish midfielder Zielinski who is currently on loan at Empoli from Udinese, and the Reds were keen to take him to Merseyside this month.

Liverpool also made an offer for the 21-year-old midfielder earlier this week, but it has been suggested that Udinese have promptly knocked back their attempt to snare away the midfielder during the January transfer window.

However, the Reds are not giving up on their hope of signing the player, and it has been suggested that they are expected to resume talks with Udinese for the midfielder again next summer.
