Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfielder Moussa Dembele has put pen to paper on a new contract at the club.

Dembele is a key man under Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and has agreed to extend his stay at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2019.

The Belgium international had been on a contract running until 2017, but has now extended that by a further two years in a move which will delight the Spurs faithful.

So far this season the 28-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Pochettino's men, scoring four goals in the process.

The Belgian committing his future to the White Hart Lane outfit will no doubt hand the team a big boost heading into the second half of the campaign, a season during which Spurs have been mooted as dark horses to win the title.
